Eldorado Heights is a large subdivision in McKinney Texas between Lake Forest Dr., Plymouth Drive, Cedar Elm Drive, and McKinney Ranch Parkway. There are several entrances off of each of these major streets but specifically Lake Forest Drive and McKinney Ranch Parkway. The community sits just south of the EA Randles Park and west of the Catherine be Winifred Park.
One of McKinney’s most popular neighborhoods, Eldorado Heights was named #5 on the Dallas Morning News is one of the best neighborhoods in North Texas. This family-friendly community in South McKinney received top ratings for safety and walkability. It has a number of factors that make it one of the most desirable places to live including the natural terrain of rolling hills, numerous creeks, and a city like a design. This community features midsize homes built from 1996 to 2005. There are two phases in Eldorado Heights encompassing nearly 1500 homes. The Association includes homes north of the Cottonwood Creek Greenway and East of Lake Forest Drive. Residents enjoy the use of three neighborhood swimming pools with easy access to local parks.
Residents of Eldorado Heights utilize the world-famous McKinney Independent school district and are served by the Ruben Johnson elementary school centrally located in the neighborhood, the Evans middle school, and the McKinney high school. A small portion of the community attends the Jesse McGowan elementary school. The Ruben Johnson school received an exemplary rating from the state of Texas and most homes in the community attend this elementary school.
Eldorado Heights homes start at about $220,000 up to $350,000. The majority are three or four bedrooms, two or three bathrooms, and in sizes from 1500 ft.² to 2500 ft.². Nearly all are two-story however there are the occasional single-story homes scattered throughout the neighborhood. Most of these homes are brick construction on lots 1/3 to 1/2 acres. Homeowner association dues are about $30 per month, typically paid annually.
Right across the street on McKinney Ranch Parkway is a Walmart, Supercuts, Game Stop, GNC, restaurants, and gas station. The Sam Rayburn Tollway is just a couple minutes south.
